Changed Lives From Across The Globe

Recently this story was passed on to us from our friends from 'City Kidz' in Hamilton and we had to share it with you...

"I don't know if I told you the story of one of the families who attended your camp last year through us. This one family who are refugees from Congo their three kids went to Mini-Yo-We last year.

The dad stopped our Coordinator of Junior Leadership, Keneisha, at church one Sunday back in December. He was telling her that they had been receiving your emails throughout the year about camp and he went to go look up the website because he knew how much of an impact the camp had on the kids last summer.

He was looking at the website to see if it would be possible for him to send them again. When he saw how much it cost he was blown away that his kids were able to go for no cost last year. He realized there was no way he'd ever be able to send his kids to a camp like that on his own. So he stopped Keneisha at church and said to her "Who would have thought that God would have thought of me when He placed you at this church and put it on your heart to send my kids to camp. There is no way that I would be able to send them on my own. And for God to know and to put you in my path, I am so thankful"  - Parent, 2011

It was so great having those kids at Camp and we very much cherish the opportunity to impact the lives of the less fortunate from across the globe!

Why Christian Camp?

Over the course of the year at Mini-Yo-We I  get a chance to visit several churches, schools and organizations to talk about Camp and the value of Christian camping in general.

Recently unfortunately it has become all to evident that many people have never even heard of Christian camping much less Camp Mini-Yo-We. I asked a pastor today about if they support Christian Camps and his reply was " there are Christian Camps now?".

Its a long hard battle to drum up in the hearts of people the value of Camp and how it changes lives forever for the better. I can't think of anything id rather be doing in the summer time than being by the water with friends and people I love in God's Creation! Can you?
